Biography |
Margaret Priest (British / Canadian, b. 1944) was born in Tyringham, Buckinghamshire, England. She completed her master of fine arts at the Royal College of Art in London. She moved to Canada in 1976. She is professor emerita at the School of Fine Art and Music at the University of Guelph in Ontario. She was the recipient of a Governor General's Medal in Architecture in 1994 for her contribution to The Monument to Construction Workers in Cloud Gardens Park, Toronto. She was in a two-person exhibition with the artist Ralph Scarlett at the Kelowna Art Gallery in the year 2000 and in the group show Through Her Eyes in 2019. Her work can be found in numerous private and public collections, including the Tate Gallery, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the Canadian Centre for Architecture. |
