Cory Fuhr (Canadian, b. 1972) is a self-taught artist who works in clay and metal sculpture. He is known for creating monumental metal public sculptures, from representations of musical instruments to life-size and larger-than-life human forms, using intricate assembling of steel tools and gears. His work can be found throughout BC, including the UBC Okanagan Permanent Art Collection, the Performing Arts Theatre in Vernon, and the Richmond Olympic Oval in Vancouver, as well as at the Toronto Public Library and Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto. Fuhr's sculpture Tree was on display in the Kelowna Art Gallery's Rotary Courtyard from 2000 to 2001. It was also featured in the exhibitions Step by Step in 2006 and The Okanagan Tree in 2010. |
