The Kelowna Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection Database
The Permanent Collection of the Kelowna Art Gallery is home to a range of works by local, national, and international artists. For more than 40 years, the Kelowna Art Gallery has collected, conserved, and exhibited a mixture of historical and contemporary art. All pieces in the collection date from the 20th and 21st centuries, and the vast majority are by artists working in Canada.
The Permanent Collection database serves as a study tool for students, researchers, curators, and the public at large. We invite you to explore the nearly 1,000 works of art varying in media and ranging from portraiture, through landscape, and into abstraction.
The works in the Permanent Collection are proudly held by the Kelowna Art Gallery on behalf of the City of Kelowna for its citizens to ensure that future generations will continue to discover the incredible diversity of Canadian art. These artworks are shared through exhibitions, loaned to other institutions, and reproduced in publications. The Kelowna Art Gallery’s Collection has been built through generous donations and considered purchases with endowment funds and grants.
